Today, we’ve launched our brand new website. We hope you like it. It has a number of new features we feel will distance us even more from our competitors. These include a stunning new design, a customised quote form for every customer’s individual requirements, the ability to start completing a quote request on every page without a single click, optimised layouts for mobile and tablet devices, ability to pay online with a credit or debit card, live chat, greater prominence of our 140+ Trustpilot reviews (no one comes close in the gas connections industry). Now we are going to turn a £1m turnover business into a multimillion pound business!
We’re pleased to announce Emily Rostern has joined 1Gas as a Gas Connections Consultant. She qualified from Bury College with a triple distinction in travel and tourism and she hopes to pursue her interest in travel in the future. Emily’s recent work experience includes working in retail for a loans company in Manchester and working in the south of France as a holiday representative. Whilst working at the loans company, her main duties were to offer short term financial solutions for those who needed them. Her customer service was rated with ‘wow’ alerts for good customer service and ‘rescue’ alerts for unsatisfactory service. Emily achieved the highest number of ‘wow’ alerts (34) in the Manchester region with no rescue alerts. She also received a letter from her previous Managing Director of 450+ stores praising her great work, no mean feat! Last summer Emily worked at Manchester Airport as a check in assistant for Thomson Airways. Responsibilities included handling delayed passengers and also making sure everyone got off on their holidays on time! We’re pleased to announce Michael Elders has joined 1Gas as a Gas Connections Consultant based at our Northern office in Bury, Greater Manchester. Michael has experience as an Estate Agent and a Customer Service Assistant. Recently he achieved an upper second class honours degree in Construction Project Management at the University of Central Lancashire. Michael has Italian heritage and is passionate about food and cars.
Quarter 2 of 2014 (April, May and June) has been a record breaking period for sales again. We’ve beaten our previous record in quarter 1 of this year by more than 35%. Year on year growth is more than 255%.
The new 1Gas website is currently in production. It’s hoped that new website will be more functional, better to navigate and have greater ease of use. We’re excited about a range of new functionality which will help 1Gas continue it’s aims of offering the best gas connections service available. We expect the new website to go live by late June or early July 2014.
Through our ambition to offer the best customer service in the gas connections industry, we decided asking for feedback from customers and publishing them on our own website wasn’t enough. We wanted to show our customers that our reviews were genuine, honest and uncensored. So, in September 2013 we set up a Trustpilot account. Trustpilot is one of the largest and prominent review portals in Europe. In the 9 months we’ve been using the service, we’ve invited more than 500 customers (who’s works we have successfully completed) to leave a review. 100 customers have taken the time to write a review and most are very positive which is brilliant to see. We’re currently rated 9.1 out of 10, and Trustpilot awards our service ‘excellent’ based on scores given by our customers. In fact 95% of customers give us a 4/5 or 5/5 rating which is really pleasing and rewarding for the 1Gas team. We’re not complacent though, and we continually try to offer the best service we can. We know that customers will keep coming if we deliver quality service consistently and that’s what we try to do. We look forward to reaching 200 reviews! April 2014 has been another astonishing month at 1Gas. We’ve broken March’s sales record by 24.6%. March itself broke the previous record in January by 26%. To surge forward and achieve another record sales month so soon was unexpected but we’re absolutely delighted with the progress we’re making every month.

Since our establishment, we have helped a range of business and domestic customers through our professional gas pipe installation and meter connection services, but this has only been made possible due to the continuing contribution of our team. Since our inception in 2010, we have witnessed tremendous growth and the pace is only increasing. In the first quarter of 2014 (January to March) we have seen the largest increase in growth to date. Our previous best quarter was at the end of 2013, we have just beaten it in the first quarter of 2014 by a huge 49.4%! And March 2014 has been our busiest month ever, too. We’ve broken our previous monthly sales record set in January 2014 and seen an increase of 26.2%. Not only that, in March 2014, we received the most enquiries, the highest number of orders and had the biggest turnover to date. Turnover is set to more than double in 2014. Our testimonials continue to grow too. We now have nearly 150 on our website and 80+ on Trustpilot (http://www.trustpilot.co.uk/review/1gasconnections.co.uk). And exciting changes are on the way. We will soon be launching new websites, significantly increasing our marketing activity and launching a new sister company to complement 1Gas. A big thank you goes out to all our customers and suppliers who are helping to make our journey possible and so successful.
