How Long Will A Gas Meter Installation Take?

30th October 2012 written by Richard Hearne in the category Gas Articles

As with any project, it’s essential to work to a time schedule and keep as closely to that schedule as possible; if one aspect of your project falls behind, everything else will be pushed back and this can be not only frustrating but expensive. Here at 1Gas we understand the importance of keeping to a strict schedule so we’ve put together a quick guide to how long your gas will take with us.

Quotes

–    Gas Meter quotes will usually be issued in 1 to 3 days.
–    Gas Pipe quotes will usually be issued in 1 to 4 weeks due to increased complexity of the project.

Installations

–    Gas Meter installation lead time can take anywhere from 5 to 15 days depending on the size of the project and assuming that no unexpected problems occur.
–    Gas Pipe installations will normally take from 6 to 8 weeks to completer, again this time scale is dependent on the size and smooth running of the project.
These timescales are just a guideline and here at 1Gas we do everything we can to complete projects as quickly and efficiently as possible while maintaining our exceptionally high standards.
If you’re organising a large project that involves the installation of either a gas meter or pipe then be wary that from time to time unexpected errors can occur. It’s also important to consider the fact that the lead times after acceptance and payment will vary as a result of factors such as council permission.
