We’ve just updated our quote documents with a QR code which allows faster access to our website. QR stands for Quick Response and is effectively a better barcode format. If you have a smart phone or tablet computer simply download a free app and scan the bar code with the camera on your device and it will load the 1Gas website for assistance with your gas connection needs.

Our Best Month Yet

November 2012 is a record breaking month at 1Gas. Order totals for gas pipe connections and meter installations are 400% higher than November 2011. Our profit is also at the highest level since our launch in February 2010, thanks to the number of orders we are receiving. 1Gas was formed, in part, to bring better prices and improved service to the gas connections industry. We also launched one of the first websites to allow gas connection and meter quote requests online and believe we still make it easier than most of our competitors to request a quote on the Internet. From the very beginning, nearly 3 years ago, we experienced very encouraging interest in our services. More recently, following our move to offices in central Brighton, recruiting new staff, heavy investment in marketing, and an impressive new website, we are continuing to see strong demand and growth. Enquiry numbers are up this year which is a result of our advertising campaigns. The graph adjacent shows a tremendous surge recently and shows no signs of slowing down. New Quote & Order Process Guides

Obtaining quotes and placing orders for gas pipe and meter connections can be time consuming and complex. At 1Gas we like to try and makes things as easy as we can for our customers. We’ve created some new documents to send to customers once we receive a quote request so we can make it clearer what happens, step-by-step, and also set expectations about timescales. We like to be as up front as we can from the very start so that we keep our customers informed and happy.

Card Payments Now Accepted By Phone

1Gas is now able to take card payments for orders by telephone. This should make placing orders easier and faster for customers who prefer to pay by credit or debit card. Debit card transactions are at no extra charge and credit card payments will include a 3% surcharge to cover the cost of payment processing fees. New Credit & Debit Card Facilities

In the next week 1Gas will be able to offer improved credit and debit card payment facilities at lower rates. Currently our card processing system entails the customer to request an email invoice and pay online via a secure website link through Google Wallet at a flat rate of 3.5% surcharge for both credit and debit cards. We will soon be able to process payments over the telephone which should allow us to offer speedier and better service. The charges will also be reduced – payments by debit card will be FREE whilst credit cards will incur a surcharge of 2.5%.

New Quotation Documents

Following our new website which went live in July, we decided it was time for a refresh of our quotation documents. We’ve started to roll out the new sleeker gas connections and gas meter quote documents today and should be complete soon. The new look is designed to deliver clear and concise information alongside an attractive, clean look in keeping with the website.

Offering the best possible service for gas pipe connections and gas meters is crucial to our ethos, which is why we have been growing the team to maintain good customer service. New Larger Office In Brighton

In June we moved to new offices at Queensbury House in central Brighton. This week we have moved to a larger office to accommodate more staff joining us in September. We even have an orange wall matching our corporate colours. We’re very pleased with our new gas connections and meters hub! Feel free to come and visit us. We’re situated on the 3rd floor of Queensbury House, 106 Queens Road, a two minute walk away from the railway station and Churchill Square.

Our Busiest & Most Successful Month

We’re delighted to announce July 2012 has been our most busiest month for quote requests and orders since we launched over two and a half years ago. It’s been a very busy month for us, and even though the UK is in the grip of a recession, 1Gas continues to grow and serve a growing number of customers. We’ve seen unprecedented demand for gas meter and gas connection services recently, in fact order volumes are up 300% on the previous month. We’ve also received some fantastic testimonials which we are delighted with and gives us great motivation and job satisfaction. We believe part of our success is down to offering competitive pricing and friendly accessible service. The recent growth has also been possible and bolstered by an increase in our staff levels and the launch of our new website.

Due to growth in our business 1Gas is seeking a new Gas Connections Assistant apprentice to help deliver gas pipe and meter connections at our modern office in Brighton city centre. The ideal new employee would be responsible for four main key areas of work: handling new customer enquiries, requesting costs from suppliers, sending quotes to customers by email, and overseeing orders from start to finish … and more.
